2026 World Cup qualifiers: Uzbekistan national team to face Iran today
Today, March 25, the Uzbekistan national football team will compete against Iran in Tehran as part of the 8th round of the final qualifying stage for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match will kick off at 21:00 Tashkent time at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.
As a reminder, in the previous round, Timur Kapadze’s squad played against the Kyrgyz Republic national team in Tashkent, securing a 1-0 victory.
For context, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who are in the same group as Uzbekistan and closely trailing them, will face the Kyrgyz Republic away from home.
Currently, the Uzbekistan national team stands in second place in the group with 16 points. Iran leads the group with 19 points, while the UAE and Qatar, with 10 points each, occupy the third and fourth positions, respectively.
