Uzbekistan's car production shows modest growth, with Cobalt and Onix leading

Positive trends were also observed in the production of Damas and Haval. However, the production of Tracker crossovers fell by more than 10%.

In the first two months of 2025, car production in Uzbekistan showed a slight increase, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.

During January-February, 53,522 passenger cars were produced, representing an increase of just 0.36% compared to the same period in 2024. One in three cars produced was the Chevrolet Cobalt, whose production grew by more than 21%, reaching 19,460 units.

In second place was the Damas model with 12,980 units (+10.47%). Negative dynamics were observed for Chery (-30.54%) and Tracker (-10.76%) models, with 1,392 and 5,837 vehicles produced, respectively.

Onix production reached 6,718 cars (+25.41%), while Kia production remained about the same as last year, at 4,102 units. The production of Haval increased more than seven times, reaching 1,117 passenger cars. Additionally, the BYD factory in the Jizzakh region produced 1,912 electric vehicles.

According to Uzavtosanoat data, 50,373 cars were sold during the first two months. UzAuto Motors accounted for 52.4% of the market share, followed by Khorezm Auto (30%), ADM Jizzakh (11.4%), and BYD Uzbekistan Factory (5.7%). The total market share of the other three manufacturers did not exceed 0.5%.

Among brands, Chevrolet continued to lead, with over 41,500 cars sold (the majority of which were Cobalt models). Kia sales reached 3,690 cars, while BYD sold 2,862 electric vehicles. The top five also included Chery and Haval, with 1,122 and 950 vehicles sold, respectively.

In terms of models, the top four spots were held by the Cobalt, Damas, Tracker, and Labo, which together accounted for more than 77% of all sales. Kia Sonet ranked fourth with 2,687 units, surpassing Onix. The top ten also included three models from BYD and the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.
