New Delhi to host Uzbekistan–India higher education forum
The event, scheduled for May 25, is organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India in collaboration with the Indian education services company MD House. Delegations from universities and institutes of higher education in both countries will participate in the forum.
In recent years, there has been a notable increase in interest among Indian youth in studying at universities in Uzbekistan. This trend has been driven by a series of consistent reforms in various sectors in Uzbekistan, the alignment of the national education system with international standards, and the favorable environment created for international students. Notably, many Uzbek universities offer English-language instruction, which has further enhanced their appeal. Additionally, Uzbekistan’s commitment to providing a safe and comfortable living environment for foreign students plays a vital role.
During the forum, the delegations from Uzbek and Indian universities are expected to explore new prospects for bilateral cooperation and sign memorandums of understanding.
Representatives from Uzbekistan will also hold talks with leading Indian companies that specialize in facilitating international education for young people.
Higher education has become one of the fastest-growing areas of bilateral cooperation in recent years. Currently, around 10,000 Indian students are enrolled in Uzbek universities and institutes—a number that continues to rise annually.
