Samarkand tops birth statistics in Uzbekistan for early 2025
A total of 266,478 live births were registered across Uzbekistan from January to April 2025, according to the Civil Registry Offices.
Data from the National Statistics Committee shows that Samarkand region recorded the highest number of births during this period, with 32,118 cases.
The regional breakdown of live births is as follows:
- Fergana region – 30,371
- Kashkadarya region – 29,792
- Surkhandarya region – 24,599
- Andijan region – 23,513
- Namangan region – 22,843
- Tashkent region – 20,698
- Tashkent city – 20,023
- Khorezm region – 12,447
- Bukhara region – 12,390
- Republic of Karakalpakstan – 11,896
- Jizzakh region – 11,787
- Navoi region – 7,367
- Syrdarya region – 6,634
