China National Gold Group to extract precious metals and critical minerals in Uzbekistan
The Chinese company will assist with geological exploration and help attract investment.

Uzbekistan has enlisted China National Gold Group (CNGG) to develop deposits of precious metals, according to the press service of the Ministry of Geology and Mining Industry.
A delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev held talks with executives of the state-owned gold mining company during an official visit to China. The meeting focused on expanding and deepening investment cooperation.
Following the discussions, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing a partnership. The document was signed on behalf of Uzbekistan by Deputy Minister of Geology and Mining Industry Ural Yusupov.
Under the agreement, CNGG will collaborate with the ministry in conducting geological exploration at promising sites for the extraction of precious and critical minerals. The company will also take part in their development and the production of high value-added products.
The parties additionally plan to facilitate the transfer of advanced technologies for local implementation in Uzbekistan and to organize training programs for specialists. CNGG is also expected to help attract investment to finance priority projects.
