Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to hold trilateral summit in Awaza
The leaders of the three countries will meet today, August 22, in Turkmenistan’s Awaza tourism zone to discuss the development of multilateral economic cooperation. A number of joint documents will be signed.
At the invitation of Turkmenistan’s Chairman of the People’s Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit the country on August 22 to take part in the trilateral summit in the “Azerbaijan – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan” format.
The event in the Awaza national tourism zone will focus on strengthening multilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and economic affairs, transport and communications, energy, and humanitarian areas.
Several joint documents are expected to be signed.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the summit.
It should be noted that earlier this month, during the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries held in Awaza, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov held a trilateral meeting.
