Chinese firm Hunan Zhongwei Group plans to participate in the development of a tourist complex in Margilan, Fergana region, the local administration reported.
On September 10, Fergana regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with the company’s head, Chen Minbo, to discuss three major investment projects Hunan Zhongwei intends to implement in Fergana and Margilan.

The company plans to construct a 12-story hotel at the Burhanuddin Marginal Scientific and Educational Center. Nearby, it intends to develop an international shopping complex. According to a slide released by the administration, the center will include two logistics complexes and five commercial zones: food and agricultural products, furniture and home goods, construction materials, automotive parts, and a service area.

In addition, the Chinese delegation outlined plans for the Foshan industrial technopark in the small industrial zone of Bakay, which will host more than 20 enterprises. The presentation included details on facility layout, architectural design, and projected economic benefits.

Construction of the Marginal tourist complex began in April this year under a master plan developed by an unnamed Turkish company. On 35 hectares in the Navruz neighborhood, the complex will include hotels, a gastronomic center and bazaar, a shopping complex, a mosque, parking facilities, dormitories, academic and research centers, an event hall, two recreational parks, a museum, and the Otabek and Kumush House.
Separately, in July, construction started on the Margilan City Mall & Residence complex, valued at $35 million. The project will feature 11 high-rise residential buildings, a shopping center, and parking facilities near the future tourist hub.
