From 1 January to 30 August 2025, aviation security staff at Tashkent airport confiscated 535 items prohibited for carriage, Uzbekistan Airports reported.
Among the seized items were cold weapons (knives, daggers, knuckle-dusters), ammunition and their replicas, as well as pyrotechnics such as firecrackers and sparklers. Security officers also confiscated pepper spray and gas canisters, batons and stun guns, chemical substances, and dual-use devices including toy pistols, cartridge keychains, and drones.
Authorities noted that many of these items pose a potential threat to the safety of passengers and crew.
“Even souvenir cartridges and toy weapons can raise suspicions and lead to flight delays or incidents on board the aircraft,” the statement said.
Passengers were urged to review in advance the list of items prohibited for carriage.
