South Korean company plans to build bioenergy complex in Jizzakh and upgrade Zafarshan heating network
Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC), a South Korean operator of district heating networks, plans to implement projects in three regions of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade reported.
On September 12, Minister Laziz Kudratov met with a KDHC delegation led by Director Chong Yong-Gi. The sides discussed priority areas of cooperation, project financing models, and public–private partnership mechanisms.

KDHC intends to introduce advanced solutions under the “New Tashkent” project. The company also plans to build a bioenergy complex in the Jizzakh region and modernize the heating network in the city of Zarafshan.
The participants agreed to continue developing these initiatives in detail. According to the ministry, KDHC’s involvement will help improve energy efficiency in Uzbekistan’s heating systems.

Earlier, in early August, Chong Yong-Gi held talks with Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Seoul, Alisher Abdusalomov, focusing on the introduction of modern heating technologies in New Tashkent and other cities under the K-Heating initiative.
KDHC’s special expert group advises Uzbek operators on heating network modernization and infrastructure planning. Chong Yong-Gi also announced the launch of a training program to develop local specialists.
