The announcement followed a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev and Haider Abbas, Director General of Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Center. The discussion covered ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, including joint research projects and initiatives to safeguard digital infrastructure.
During the meeting, the Pakistani side was briefed on Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms under the “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy, the capabilities of the country’s e-government system, and the development of IT parks.
Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Center regularly organizes seminars, trainings, and conferences for civil servants and educators. Its four-stage training program aims to improve technical skills and digital literacy, beginning with strategic decision-making.
Both parties identified potential areas for collaboration, including joint training and simulation exercises, short-term courses for students and government officials, threat detection using artificial intelligence, research in digital forensics and secure communications, coordination of international and regional cybersecurity initiatives, and protection of critical infrastructure through public–private partnerships.
The countries agreed to maintain regular cooperation, organize reciprocal visits to set priorities and practical objectives, and hold ongoing online meetings and consultations between their respective cybersecurity authorities.
