Uzbekistan’s military claims victory at international competition in Korea

The team of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan has won first place at the international scientific–combat training competition held in the Republic of Korea.

The contest took place on 21–26 September at the Land Forces Scientific Training Center in Inje, Gangwon Province. This was the third edition of the competition, which brought together military units from different countries to test operational planning, tactical skills, and combat readiness.

At the initial stage, participating teams developed operational plans, carried out national coordination tasks, and enhanced their ability to conduct joint operations. The competition then moved into practical phases, with lots drawn to determine matchups. Over 12 stages, the teams engaged in simulated battles in foothill, forest, and urban environments, using advanced training systems and combat simulations.

Performance was assessed based on several criteria, including the completeness of tasks, adherence to combat rules, effectiveness in attack and defense, survival rates, and the tactical soundness of maneuvers. Reporting and situational awareness were also taken into account.

The Uzbek servicemen delivered record-breaking performances. They captured the simulated enemy’s reserve and main command post in just 21 minutes – surpassing the previous record of 33 minutes – and repelled an enemy assault in defense within 25 minutes, beating the earlier best of 29 minutes.

Individual excellence was also recognized. Sergeant Third Class Bekzod Nodirov achieved the highest score in eliminating the simulated enemy and was named “Best shooter” of the competition.

With these results, the Uzbek military secured first place for the third year in a row, maintaining its dominance at the international scientific–combat training competition.
