Uzbekistan to face Kuwait and Uruguay in October friendlies
The Uzbekistan national football team will play friendly matches against Kuwait and Uruguay in October as part of its preparations for the FIFA World Cup.

According to the Uzbekistan Football Association, the first match will be held on 9 October at 18:00 at the “Olympia” stadium in Tashkent against Kuwait.
Earlier, the UFA reported that the team will play Uruguay on 13 October in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
These matches are part of the national team’s training program for the FIFA World Cup.
Uzbekistan secured its first-ever spot in the World Cup after finishing second in its group behind Iran during the qualifiers for the 2026 tournament.
In the FIFA rankings published in September, Uzbekistan climbed one place to 54th with 1,453.31 points. In Asia, the team currently ranks sixth behind Japan (19th, down two spots from July), Iran (21st, down one), South Korea (23rd, unchanged), Australia (25th, down one) and Qatar (53rd, unchanged).
