One dead, 14 injured after bus with Uzbek migrants crashes in Russia
A bus transporting workers – including citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkey – overturned following a collision with a car in Russia’s Amur region.
According to TASS, the accident occurred on 16 October near the city of Svobodny. The bus, carrying employees of Yamata, a Turkish contracting company involved in the construction of the Amur Gas Chemical Complex, collided with a Toyota Probox. After the collision, the bus veered off the road and overturned.
Of the 49 injured passengers, one person died and 14 others were hospitalized. One of them remains in critical condition in intensive care.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 238-1 of the Russian Federation’s Criminal Code (performing work or providing services that do not meet safety requirements).
