Uzbekistan urges its truck drivers in Russia to observe migration regulations
The Migration Agency has urged Uzbek citizens engaged in cargo transportation in Russia to strictly comply with the host country’s migration regulations.
According to the agency, as of 2025, Uzbek nationals account for a quarter of Russia’s international freight transport market. However, many labor migrants face deportation and entry bans due to violations of local migration rules.
The agency called on all Uzbek truck drivers to fill out migration cards accurately when crossing the border. The purpose of entry must be specified as “official” or “transit” instead of “tourism.”
After entering Russia, Uzbek nationals are required to register for migration within 15 working days – either personally or through their employer or host organization, which bears responsibility for this procedure. Drivers must also comply with the “90/365” rule – they may stay in Russia no more than 90 days within any 365-day period.
All activities of migrants on Russian territory must be documented officially. This includes obtaining formal records or certificates in case of truck breakdowns or other force majeure situations.
Those who have already made mistakes in their documentation are advised to apply to the Main Directorate for Internal Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, submitting documents that confirm the actual purpose of their visit.
Additionally, drivers facing difficulties may contact the Migration Agency’s representative office in Moscow at +7 925 045 4744.
The agency reminded that violations of migration rules may result in an entry ban to Russia for a period of three to ten years. Individuals placed on the entry-ban list have the right to appeal and request removal from the list.
