Convicted pedophile escapes and commits new assault on child in Tashkent region

News has spread on social networks that a 31-year-old convict who escaped from Settlement Colony No. 50 in Ohangaron district, Tashkent region, raped a girl studying in the third grade, and that local residents caught him in a field.
According to a press release distributed by the Operational Search Service of the Tashkent Region Internal Affairs Department, on October 16, while engaged in useful labor at the "P.B." enterprise, he "went in an unknown direction."
The release states that he was imprisoned in 2018 under Part 4 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code (violation of the honor of a person under 14 years of age), with the sentence extending until 2033. By court decision, in August 2024, he was transferred to the settlement colony to serve the remaining 9 years, 2 months, and 19 days of his sentence.
According to information provided by the press secretary of the Chief Directorate of Internal Affairs, a new criminal case has been initiated against this individual under Part 4 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code (satisfying sexual needs in an unnatural way using violence) for indecent acts toward a minor girl.
It is emphasized that the individual was detained in accordance with procedural norms by law enforcement agencies on the same day, and a custodial measure was applied against him. Investigative actions are underway.
