Criminal case opened against detention center officers following escape of convicted pedophile
A criminal case has been initiated against officers of the Internal Affairs Ministry’s Department for the Execution of Sentences at the Central Detention Center in connection with the escape of a convicted pedophile from a settlement colony.

Reportedly, the National Agency for Social Protection has taken the situation under its control. To ensure the protection of the underage victim’s rights, as well as provide her with psychological and social assistance, a working group composed of specialists from the “Inson” social service center has been formed.
“A case has been opened regarding the incident. The underage victim has been placed in a primary support facility, and an initial psychological consultation is currently underway,” the statement said.
It was also reported that a criminal case has been opened against the rank-and-file officer Sh.O. from the Central Detention Center’s disciplinary unit and others. They are accused under Article 214, Part 3, Paragraph (v) of the Criminal Code – receiving unlawful material assets or gaining property benefits as employees of a state body, an organization with state participation, or a self-government body, committed by a group in prior collusion.
Such an offense is punishable by restriction of liberty for three to five years or imprisonment for the same term.
Earlier, it was reported that a 31-year-old inmate had escaped from settlement colony No. 50 in the Ohangaron district of Tashkent region and raped a third-grade girl. The man was later apprehended, and a new criminal case was opened against him under Article 119, Part 4 (satisfying sexual desire through the use of violence in an unnatural way) of the Criminal Code.
