Uzhydromet warns of strong winds and dust storms in Karakalpakstan and Navoi
According to the Center for Hydrometeorological Service of Uzbekistan (Uzhydromet), on 27 October, wind speeds in some areas of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Navoi region may increase to 13–18 meters per second, accompanied by dust storms in certain locations. Residents are urged to take precautionary measures.

Uzhydromet issued a weather warning for daytime conditions today, noting that in some districts and cities of Karakalpakstan and Navoi, winds may intensify up to 13–18 m/s, and in some areas, visibility may decrease due to dust storms.
The agency called on residents and visitors to observe the following safety recommendations:
- limit outdoor activities and avoid unnecessary travel;
- use protective equipment such as masks or respirators and eyewear;
- keep doors and windows closed indoors and check air conditioners or dust filters;
- for drivers – reduce speed, maintain safe distance, and use headlights properly in dusty or foggy conditions.
Uzhydromet noted that the strong wind and dust storm events mentioned in the warning may be short-term in some areas. Relevant services are monitoring the situation.
