The repatriation was carried out through the coordinated efforts of the working group established with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Moscow, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the National Agency for Social Protection.
In particular, the group identified 16 minors in Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, and Moscow who were either unsupervised or in difficult social circumstances and facilitated their return to Uzbekistan.
In addition, assistance was provided for the repatriation of 19 more children who had been left without parental care from cities including Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Khakassia, Moscow Region, Makhachkala, and Novosibirsk.
The process of verifying the children’s personal data, preparing the necessary documentation for their return, conducting medical examinations, and addressing other organizational matters was carried out in cooperation with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation.
According to the Embassy and partner organizations, such measures play an important role in protecting the rights and interests of Uzbekistan’s citizens – especially minors – and ensuring their social welfare.
