U.S. International Development Finance Corporation may open regional office in Tashkent
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), during his business program in Washington, D.C. on November 6. The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and supporting private sector development in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to accelerating the creation of a joint investment platform aimed at financing priority projects and supporting small businesses. The parties also considered practical measures for opening a regional DFC office in Tashkent.
The DFC, a U.S. national development institution, mobilizes private capital to implement infrastructure and industrial projects in developing countries.
It was noted with satisfaction that high-level dialogue and trade and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States have been expanding steadily. Large joint initiatives are being developed in key sectors, including energy, critical minerals, finance, transport, agriculture, and information technology.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of DFC’s active participation in implementing infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan through public–private partnerships.
