The metro administration addressed social media complaints about overcrowded trains. Passengers have reported long waiting times during peak hours, often having to let several trains pass due to a lack of space.

Over the past four years, Tashkent metro has purchased 41 new train sets, bringing the total number of trains to 75 – more than double the 2021 level.

In 2026, an additional 56 modern train cars are planned to be procured. This upgrade is expected to refresh the fleet and shorten waiting times for commuters.

Currently, the highest train frequency is on the Chilanzar line, where 28 trains operate during peak hours. The interval between trains on this line has decreased from five minutes in 2021 to 90 seconds, according to the metro administration.

On the Uzbekistan line, train intervals have been reduced from six minutes to three minutes, and on the Yunusabad line, from eleven minutes to four minutes. Following the reopening of the Circular Line, intervals have decreased to nine minutes, a quarter shorter than when it was first launched.
