Neftchi crowned Super League champions ahead of schedule
Fergana’s Neftchi have been crowned champions of Uzbekistan for the first time in 24 years, securing the title ahead of schedule with a decisive 4:1 home victory over Qizilqum in matchday 29 of the Super League.
Alisher Odilov scored twice for the hosts, with Jamshid Iskanderov and Ibrokhimhalil Yuldoshev adding one goal each. The visitors’ only goal was netted by Shohruz Norkhonov.
The result puts Neftchi on 64 points, guaranteeing the championship with matches to spare. Their closest rivals, Pakhtakor, sit in second place with 59 points.
For head coach Vitaliy Levchenko of Tajikistan, the title marks the culmination of a four-year journey. In 2022, he helped the club retain their place in the Super League. In 2025, he delivered the gold medals.
Neftchi have now won the Uzbekistan championship six times, making them the second most successful club in the country after record-holders Pakhtakor, who have lifted the trophy 16 times. Bunyodkor have been champions five times, while Lokomotiv and Dustlik have each won the title twice. MHSK, Navbahor and Nasaf have each been crowned champions once.
