Draft state budget for 2026: How much funding will each institution receive?
Uzbekistan expects GDP growth of 6.6 percent and inflation of around 7 percent in 2026. The budget deficit ceiling is projected at UZS 51.6 trillion, equivalent to 3 percent of GDP. The upper limit for new external state borrowing is set at $5 billion, of which $2.5 billion will support the state budget and $2.5 billion will be directed toward investment projects.
The draft law On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026 has been made available for public discussion. Under the draft, consolidated budget revenues are projected at UZS 515.3 trillion, while expenditures are set at UZS 566.9 trillion. The deficit ceiling remains at UZS 51.6 trillion – equal to 3 percent of GDP.
In 2026, the maximum amount of new external state borrowing will be $5 billion, half of which will be used to support the budget and the other half to finance investment projects. The government also plans to issue state securities worth UZS 30 trillion on behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
GDP is expected to exceed UZS 1 quadrillion 976 trillion in 2026. Forecasts indicate GDP growth of 6.6 percent in 2026, 6.8 percent in 2027, and 6.9 percent in 2028.
According to the document, inflation is expected to settle around 7 percent in 2026.
