Islamabad development to feature New Uzbekistan residential area and park
The Pakistani company Habib Rafiq Pvt. Ltd has expressed interest in joining the New Tashkent project.
A New Uzbekistan residential district and park are planned for construction in Pakistan’s capital, Dunyo reported.
Last week, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev met with Aslam Malik, general manager of the Pakistani company Habib Rafiq Pvt. Ltd, to discuss prospects for cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
“We are well aware of the changes taking place in Uzbekistan’s construction sector. In recent years, the country has gained extensive experience in developing infrastructure, providing comfortable housing, and building new cities. We are interested in studying Uzbekistan’s urban planning experience and taking part in its projects. We also invite Uzbek construction companies to participate in projects in Pakistan,” Aslam Malik said, as quoted by Dunyo.
The Pakistani representative presented the large-scale Capital Smart City development project, which is being built on 2,800 hectares near Islamabad. The complex includes residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, recreational zones, and parks, while construction continues on Silicon Village, a technology hub set to become an analogue of the US Silicon Valley.
The general manager of Habib Rafiq Pvt. Ltd proposed establishing a New Uzbekistan residential district and park within Capital Smart City, engaging the company in the New Uzbekistan and New Tashkent projects, arranging a visit by the company’s leadership to Uzbekistan, and involving major Uzbek developers in projects in Pakistan, particularly in Capital Smart City.
Abid Kabir Cheema, director of Silicon Village, expressed strong interest in building closer ties with Uzbekistan’s technology parks.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a mechanism for implementing the discussed areas and projects together with the relevant Uzbek authorities and potential investors, organize a working visit by the Pakistani company’s delegation to Uzbekistan, and hold negotiations with partners.
