Women account for more than two-thirds of Uzbekistan's centenarians - Pension Fund
According to the Pension Fund, there are 461 people in Uzbekistan aged 100 and older.
The highest number of centenarian pensioners is recorded in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Tashkent, and Fergana regions.
Of the 461 pensioners aged 100 and above, 131 are men, accounting for 28.5 percent, while 330 are women, or 71.5 percent of the total. The figures represent a significant gender gap in life expectancy among the country’s oldest citizens.
Regionally, Kashkadarya leads with 73 centenarian pensioners, followed by Surkhandarya with 69. Tashkent and Fergana regions each have 41 pensioners aged 100 or older. In contrast, the lowest numbers were reported in the Republic of Karakalpakstan with 17 centenarians, Syrdarya with 13, and Navoi region with 11.
