Uzbekistan Airports names busiest domestic and international air routes in 2025

In 2025, passengers at Uzbekistan’s airports actively used both domestic and international air routes. Passenger traffic increased on some routes, while on others it shifted due to the redistribution of flights and airlines, according to Uzbekistan Airports.

The most popular domestic route was Tashkent – Urgench – Tashkent, which served 375,000 passengers in 2025, up 18 percent year on year. Most passengers on this route were carried by Uzbekistan Airways, as well as private carriers Centrum Air and Fly Khiva Group.

The second-busiest domestic route was Tashkent – Nukus – Tashkent, with 227,000 passengers transported in 2025. Passenger traffic on this route declined by 10 percent, as some airlines reduced or suspended flights.

The Tashkent – Bukhara – Tashkent route remained stable throughout the year, serving 187,000 passengers. A slight increase was driven by the regional carrier Silk Avia.

Among international routes, Tashkent – Moscow – Tashkent remained the leader, with 1,173,652 passengers carried in 2025.

Second place went to Tashkent – Istanbul – Tashkent, which recorded passenger traffic of 983,858, reflecting 3 percent growth year on year.

The third-busiest international route was Samarkand – Moscow – Samarkand, serving 586,149 passengers, up 8 percent from the previous year.

The top 10 international routes also included Tashkent – Jeddah, Tashkent – Dubai, Tashkent – Almaty, Tashkent – Seoul, Samarkand – Istanbul, and Tashkent – St. Petersburg.

The strongest growth in 2025 was recorded on the leisure route Tashkent – Sharm el-Sheikh – Tashkent, where passenger traffic surged by 48 percent to more than 210,000 passengers.

Overall, 2025 highlighted sustained passenger interest in air travel, the expansion of tourist routes, and intensifying competition among airlines.
