More than 1,800 babies born in Uzbekistan on first day of 2026
On January 1, 2026, 1,815 babies were born across Uzbekistan. According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, 894 of the newborns were girls and 921 were boys.
For comparison, 1,644 babies were born on January 1, 2021; 2,316 in 2022; 2,155 in 2023; 1,859 in 2024; and 1,641 in 2025.
The highest number of births was recorded in Surkhandarya region, where 243 babies were born.
The breakdown by other regions is as follows:
- Fergana region – 216
- Namangan region – 194
- Kashkadarya region – 191
- Samarkand region – 191
- Andijan region – 157
- Tashkent city – 143
- Tashkent region – 129
- Bukhara region – 85
- Jizzakh region – 76
- Khorezm region – 65
- Navoi region – 55
- Karakalpakstan – 41
- Syrdarya region – 29
Among the newborns were thirty twins, three triplets, and four quadruplets.
