State-run international bus service begins operations on Tashkent – Dushanbe route
The first state-operated bus service has officially commenced operations on the Tashkent – Dushanbe international route. The new service aims to provide passengers with a high level of comfort, safety, and fully regulated international transport standards.
The route is serviced by sleeper buses, specifically designed for long-distance travel. According to transport officials, the average travel time between the two capital cities is estimated at 15-17 hours. The bus follows a designated path through the Sariosiyo border crossing, ultimately arriving at the Dushanbe Central Railway Station.
As this is an international service crossing the border between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, passengers are reminded of the necessary legal requirements. Every traveler is required to possess a valid international passport to clear customs and border control points.
Authorities have advised passengers to prepare all necessary travel documents in advance and to strictly adhere to international transport regulations to ensure a smooth journey.
At present, the state bus service operates on a bi-weekly schedule. The departure and return times are organized as follows:
- Departures from Tashkent: Tuesdays and Fridays at 17:00;
- Departures from Dushanbe: Wednesdays and Saturdays at 13:00.
The bus service is expected to offer a more affordable and reliable alternative to air travel and private taxis.
