Heavy rain may trigger mudflows and flooding in several regions of Uzbekistan – Uzhydromet
Authorities have warned of possible mudflows and flash floods in mountainous and foothill areas of Uzbekistan as rainfall is expected across parts of the country on March 18–19.

According to Uzhydromet, heavy rain may trigger mudflow and flood events in several regions, particularly in areas located near mountains.
The weather agency said the following districts could face mudflow and flood hazards during the forecast period:
- Kashkadarya region – Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, Guzor districts.
- Surkhandarya region – Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shurchi, Qumqorgon, Muzrabot districts.
- Samarkand region – Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Koshrabot, Kattakurgan, Payarik, Jomboy, Ishtikhon districts.
- Navoi region – Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex, Karmana districts.
- Jizzakh region – Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, Yangiobod districts.
- Tashkent region – Ohangaron, Bostanlik, Parkent, Piskent, Urta Chirchiq, Yukori Chirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk.
- Namangan region – Pop, Kosonsoy, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, Yangiqorgon districts.
- Fergana region – Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, Besharik districts.
- Andijan region – Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Kurgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.
Uzhydromet called on residents living in foothill and mountainous areas, tourists visiting such locations, and drivers traveling through mountain roads to take precautionary measures.
The agency also warned that rainfall across the country could lead to the accumulation of stormwater in some areas, increasing the risk of localized flooding.
