Customs officers seize hashish disguised as potatoes at Afghan border
Customs authorities have seized more than 72 kg of hashish hidden among agricultural produce in a truck arriving from Afghanistan. The drugs were believed to be intended for onward trafficking to Russia.
Reportedly, the seizure took place at the Tashkent-Termez highway border crossing in southern Uzbekistan.
The truck, a MAN vehicle driven by a 25-year-old man from Termez district, was stopped and inspected by border and customs officers.

During a detailed search, officers discovered 72.3 kg of hashish concealed among the cargo. The drugs had been shaped into 222 briquettes resembling potatoes in an apparent attempt to avoid detection.
The seized narcotics were processed in accordance with established procedures. An investigation is underway.
