On April 14, officials presented first-quarter results for Uzbekneftegaz, outlining priorities for the second quarter alongside trends in output and financial performance.
Authorities are currently working to stabilize production, offset losses, commission new wells, conduct necessary repairs, and implement technological upgrades. Efforts are also underway to optimize costs, reduce receivables, improve resource efficiency, and refine market mechanisms in designated areas.
Officials stated they are focusing on increasing well efficiency and introducing modern extraction technologies. In collaboration with international companies, specialists are studying various technological solutions for phased implementation.
The meeting also addressed efforts to expand geological exploration, identify new prospective areas, and bring them into development. Authorities are scaling up 2D and 3D seismic surveys, launching drilling in new locations, and aligning drilling programs with international standards. Additionally, there is a focus on improving supervision, geological and hydrodynamic modeling, and project design. Work has already commenced at several new fields this year, with further expansion planned.

Participants highlighted the necessity of drawing on international expertise to develop hard-to-recover reserves and to drill deep, complex wells under medium-term programs.
Mirziyoyev instructed officials to ensure production stability, utilize existing capacities efficiently, and systematically organize geological exploration, drilling, and repair work while strengthening financial discipline across the sector.
