Uzbekistan to subsidize tour operators, tourism events to boost inbound travel
The state will reimburse part of the tour operators’ overseas marketing costs and subsidize tourism-related expenses from September 2026, under a resolution signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The measure will cover up to 25% of local tour operators’ spending on promotional activities abroad, capped at UZS 500 million.
From September 1, 2026, through December 31, 2030, the state will also partially reimburse transport, accommodation, and meal costs for foreign tour operators invited to Uzbekistan to attract tourists.
In addition, authorities will introduce a mechanism to finance part of the costs incurred by private entrepreneurs organizing cultural, entertainment, and concert events for tourists. The support will be available for up to 1 year, provided events are held at approved locations and in accordance with a set schedule.
Funding limits for such events will be determined by the Tourism Support Fund’s council, with the condition that entrepreneurs gradually assume full cost coverage over time.
