Over 191,000 babies born in Uzbekistan during the first three months of 2026

Uzbekistan recorded 191,086 live births in the first quarter of 2026, according to the latest figures released by the National Statistics Committee.

The demographic breakdown shows that boys accounted for 51.5% of the total newborns, with 98.5 thousand births, while 92.6 thousand girls were born, representing 48.5% of the total. 

A regional analysis of the data identifies Samarkand as the area with the highest number of births, recording 23,120 newborns. This was closely followed by Fergana and Kashkadarya regions, which reported 21,563 and 21,292 births respectively. Other regions with significant birth rates included Surkhandarya with 18,468, Andijan with 16,849, and Namangan with 16,157.

In the capital city, Tashkent, 14,040 births were registered, while the surrounding Tashkent region saw 14,923. In the western and central parts of the country, Khorezm recorded 9,183 births, Bukhara 8,741, and Jizzakh 8,616.

he Republic of Karakalpakstan reported 8,080 newborns for the three-month period. The lowest numbers were observed in Navoi and Syrdarya regions, which recorded 5,241 and 4,813 births respectively.
