Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical production surges by 36 percent in first quarter
Large-scale enterprises in Uzbekistan manufactured essential pharmaceutical products and preparations worth UZS 1.5 trillion during the first three months of 2026.
Data released by the National Statistics Committee indicates a robust growth trend in the sector, with production volumes increasing by 36% compared to the same period last year.
Tashkent city remains the primary hub for the country’s pharmaceutical industry, accounting for UZS 960.7 billion of the total output.
Beyond the capital, several regions contributed significantly to the national total. Syrdarya region emerged as a key player with UZS 181.9 billion in production, followed by Tashkent region at UZS 96.0 billion. In eastern Uzbekistan, Namangan and Fergana regions reported outputs of UZS 80.4 billion and UZS 35.1 billion, respectively.
Other notable regional contributions include Samarqand at UZS 71.1 billion, Andijon at UZS 34.4 billion, and Surkhandarya at UZS 19.5 billion. Smaller volumes were recorded in Kashkadarya (UZS 6.1 billion), Khorezm (UZS 2.4 billion), and Bukhara (UZS 2.1 billion). The Republic of Karakalpakstan produced pharmaceutical goods valued at UZS 1.4 billion during the January-March period.
