Transfermarkt reveals squad values for World Cup 2026: Uzbekistan joins global elite
The football statistics portal Transfermarkt has published the total market values of the national teams participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. France tops the global rankings, boasting the most expensive squad in the tournament.
According to the data, the collective transfer value of the French players stands at €1.48 billion. England follows in second place with a squad value of €1.31 billion, while Spain secures the third spot at €1.27 billion. Germany and Portugal round out the top five, valued at €998 million and €957 million respectively.
The Uzbekistan national team is ranked 35th among the tournament participants. The total market value of the 40 players called up for Uzbekistan's training camp in May is estimated at €78.73 million.
The 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will run from June 11 to July 19. For the first time in history, the tournament will feature an expanded format of 48 national teams. The opening match is scheduled for June 11 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where co-hosts Mexico will face South Africa.
Uzbekistan will kick off its historic campaign in Mexico before traveling to the United States for its remaining group-stage fixtures. The White Wolves will play their opening match against Colombia on June 18 at the Estadio Azteca.
For the second round, Uzbekistan will travel to the United States to face Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal on June 23 at the NRG Stadium in Houston. The team will wrap up its group-stage matches on June 28 against the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
