Saida Mirziyoyeva holds talks with US EXIM Bank and DFC chiefs on expanding investment cooperation

She held talks with John Jovanovic, President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank), and Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The conversation touched on where existing projects in industry, finance, and investment currently stand, along with where there's room to grow. Both sides also discussed ways to open up new investment channels across different sectors of Uzbekistan's economy and how to better support joint initiatives going forward.

The talks also centered on plans to build a joint investment platform, designed to give businesses on both sides a more direct way to connect and help turn new investment ideas into actual projects.

Mirziyoyeva noted that the Tashkent investment forum has become a reliable space for aligning plans on existing and upcoming projects with foreign partners, discussing new initiatives, and strengthening long-term partnerships.

The discussions also highlighted that the American partners are showing a keen interest not only in the country's economic potential but also in its rich history, culture, and heritage. This broader interest indicates that bilateral relations are extending beyond purely economic ties to strengthen cultural and humanitarian bonds.

Economic experts suggest that consistent dialogue with leading US financial institutions can help Uzbekistan attract foreign capital, advance high-tech manufacturing, and expand financing opportunities for large-scale infrastructure projects.
