Uzbek refereeing team selected to officiate Morocco–Scotland World Cup clash
An officiating crew from Uzbekistan has been selected to referee the upcoming group stage match between Morocco and Scotland at the FIFA World Cup currently taking place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
FIFA referee Ilgiz Tantashev will take charge of the Group C fixture, which is scheduled to kick off on 20 June at 03:00 Tashkent time.
Tantashev will be supported by assistant referees Andrey Tsapenko and Timur Gaynullin on the sidelines.
Ilgiz Tantashev is set to become the second Uzbek referee in history to officiate a FIFA World Cup match, following Ravshan Ermatov. Ermatov refereed at the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups, taking charge of 11 matches in total – a FIFA World Cup record for a referee.
