Uzbek university graduates earn average salary of UZS 5.1 million, employment rate reaches 75% in 2025

University graduates in Uzbekistan earned an average monthly salary of UZS 5.1 million in 2025, according to preliminary results from the Graduate Quality Index published by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education.

The agency’s initial modeling tracked the career outcomes of 242,600 graduates from 114 higher education institutions. The data revealed an overall employment rate of 75% among the cohort, with graduates taking an average of two months and one day to secure a job. Furthermore, 60.1% of the graduates maintained stable employment for at least four months during the tracking period.

Salaries varied significantly depending on the field of study. Graduates from business and management programs commanded the highest average monthly pay at UZS 8.5 million. Law graduates followed with an average of UZS 7.3 million, while those entering the information and communication technology (ICT) sector earned an average of UZS 6.8 million.

While business and ICT fields led in compensation, mathematics and statistics programs achieved the highest score in the overall Graduate Quality Index, topping the chart at 69.6 points. The education sector ranked second with 66.7 points, followed closely by business and management at 63.9 points.

To encourage institutions to better prepare their students for the job market, the agency announced that the career centers of the top 20 universities demonstrating the best index results will receive a financial reward of UZS 500 million each.

These figures represent preliminary findings compiled over an eight-month observation window. The final results of the Graduate Quality Index, incorporating a full 12 months of employment data, are scheduled for release in August 2026.
