The outlook was presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a review of the performance of Uzbekneftegaz, the state-owned oil and gas company, and its priorities for the remainder of the year.

According to the presidential press service, demand for aviation kerosene is projected to reach 375,000 tonnes between July and December, up from the same period last year. Most of the additional demand is expected to be met by domestic oil refineries.

At the same time, Uzbekistan has secured alternative sources of aviation fuel after some partner countries imposed export restrictions on petroleum products. Supplies are being arranged from Georgia, Iraq and other countries to help ensure stable deliveries.

The meeting also reviewed Uzbekneftegaz's production performance in the first half of the year. The company produced 11.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the reporting period, while output of crude oil, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas exceeded planned targets.

By the end of 2026, Uzbekneftegaz aims to produce 1.1 million tonnes of motor gasoline, 983,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, 310,000 tonnes of aviation kerosene, 606,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas and approximately 1.18 million tonnes of synthetic products.

Mirziyoyev was also briefed on plans to modernize Uzbekgeofizika to strengthen geological exploration and support future hydrocarbon production.

The company plans to invest $38.8 million in new geophysical well-logging equipment and a modern 3D seismic survey system. It is also working with U.S.-based SLB (formerly Schlumberger) to establish a seismic data processing center equipped with a supercomputer, advanced software and artificial intelligence technologies.

The modernization program is expected to expand annual 3D seismic surveys from 1,800 square kilometers to 5,000 square kilometers, while increasing exploration depth from 4,500 meters to 8,000 meters. The number of prospective geological structures prepared for development is projected to rise from 19 to 30.

Officials also outlined plans to introduce high-temperature and high-pressure resistant materials in well construction, along with ultrasonic well logging, real-time geophysical monitoring and horizontal drilling technologies. The measures are expected to improve well reliability, enhance the development of productive reservoirs and increase hydrocarbon output.

Concluding the meeting, the president instructed officials to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to households and businesses, while accelerating the technological modernization of the oil and gas sector, improving energy efficiency, reducing production costs and strengthening oversight of key investment projects.
