The campaign began on July 28 and will run through September 6. An average of 4,500 pieces of equipment and more than 10,000 sanitation workers are involved each day, with operations carried out around the clock.
Over the course of the campaign, authorities aim to collect and process 1.4 million tons of municipal solid waste and 2,000 tons of construction waste.
The cleanup has so far covered 7,674 of Uzbekistan’s 8,150 mahallas. Authorities have recorded 97 cases of illegal dumping and imposed fines totaling 165.4 million Uzbek soums.
Residents have submitted 327 complaints and appeals during the campaign, of which 275 have been resolved on site. The remaining 52 are still under review.
Waste is collected daily and transported to 135 municipal landfills covering a combined area of 1,653 hectares. Between 14,000 and 15,000 tons of waste are deposited at the landfills each day, with an average of 4,500–4,700 vehicle trips recorded daily.
