The area has introduced the Smart Mahalla system, which uses digital tools to handle residents’ requests, keep demographic records up to date, and monitor local infrastructure. The system also helps support entrepreneurship.
The mahalla is also expanding its social infrastructure. A new 60-place kindergarten was built at a cost of UZS 4.5 billion under the investment programme, while the local budget allocated UZS 1 billion for football and workout grounds.
Beekeeping has become another source of income for local families under the “One Mahalla – One Product” initiative. More than 20 households are engaged in beekeeping, each keeping between 50 and 100 hives and producing up to 1 tonne of honey a year.
Mirziyoyev visited resident Bakhtiyar Zhubaev’s home and learned about the family’s honey processing and beehive production. The household processes about 2 tonnes of honey a season, generating around UZS 200 million in annual profit, and produces more than 250 beehive boxes a year, earning up to UZS 80 million in additional revenue.
The Beekeepers Association plans to help another 100 households take up beekeeping through cooperatives by the year-end, providing an additional source of income for local families.
