During the meeting, officials reported on measures being taken to ensure sufficient energy production, gas storage, and balanced distribution ahead of the colder months.
Key developments include the construction of two combined-cycle gas turbine units with a capacity of 1,065 megawatts at the Talimarjan thermal power plant, as well as a 1,573-megawatt thermal power station in Syrdarya. Combined, these facilities will be able to generate 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
In addition, new hydropower plants with a total capacity of 162 megawatts are set to begin operation this year in Tashkent, Namangan, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions. These plants are expected to produce 648 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. The new capacity will help meet public demand and support the country’s growing economy.
Meanwhile, repair work has already begun on relevant infrastructure and substations. Reserves of fuel, equipment, and spare parts are also being built up to ensure stable operation of the thermal power plants.
