Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives head of Russian FSB Alexander Bortnikov
On December 1, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation Alexander Bortnikov, who is in the country on a working visit.

As the presidential press service reported, at the beginning of the meeting, Alexander Bortnikov conveyed the heartfelt greetings and best wishes from Vladimir Putin.
“Topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance were considered. The fruitful results of the bilateral summit meeting held on November 19 this year in Moscow were highly appreciated,” the report reads.
Particular attention was paid to maintaining regular contacts and developing practical cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries to counter modern security threats, including the fight against terrorism, extremism, organized crime, cybercrimes, drug trafficking and other challenges.
They also exchanged views on the situation in the region in the context of the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
