Murodjon Akhmadaliev to face Naoya Inoue for undisputed title in Nagoya, prize money confirmed
On 14 September, a major boxing night will take place in Nagoya, Japan. Japanese star Naoya Inoue and Uzbek boxer Murodjon Akhmadaliev will face off for the undisputed super bantamweight championship of the world. At stake are not only all the major belts, but also significant prize money. Ahead of the fight, the boxers’ earnings have been announced.
Naoya Inoue’s earnings
Since turning professional in 2012, Naoya Inoue has defeated nearly all of his opponents. Nicknamed “Monster,” he has won 27 of his 30 fights by knockout – an extraordinary record, especially in the lighter weight classes.
Since 2014, Inoue has fought exclusively in title bouts. In 2022, he became the undisputed champion at bantamweight, and in 2023 he repeated the feat at super bantamweight. In terms of income, however, Inoue earns far less than global superstars like Saul “Canelo” Álvarez or Tyson Fury. According to Sporty Salaries, his guaranteed purses up to December 2023 ranged from $100,000 to $500,000, with PPV sales boosting his income to $3–4 million.
In May 2024, Inoue knocked out Mexican boxer Luis Nery, earning $6.5 million – his career-high payday. In May 2025, he defeated Ramon Cardenas in Las Vegas, collecting a guaranteed purse of $2 million. For comparison, in the same week Saul Álvarez earned $80 million for a single fight.
Murodjon Akhmadaliev’s earnings
After turning professional, Murodjon Akhmadaliev moved to the United States and signed with the promotional company “Mir Boksa.” While he mainly fights in the U.S., he has also appeared in the ring in Uzbekistan, Monaco, and Mexico.
In December 2024, Akhmadaliev knocked out Ricardo Espinoza to claim the WBA interim title. He earned $500,000 for that fight ($250,000 guaranteed purse and $250,000 in PPV bonuses). Before that, he had earned just $60,000 for his fight against Kevin González and $150,000 against Luis Castillo.
Purses for the Inoue – Akhmadaliev fight
According to Salary Leaks, the total purse for the Inoue – Akhmadaliev fight is set at $20 million. Inoue will receive 75% ($15 million), while Akhmadaliev will earn 25% ($5 million). If PPV sales perform strongly, Inoue’s income could rise to $19 million, while Akhmadaliev’s could reach $6 million. This will be the biggest payday of Akhmadaliev’s career, as he has never earned more than $500,000 for a single fight.
The bout between Akhmadaliev and Naoya Inoue will take place on 14 September at the IG Arena sports complex in Nagoya. The fight is expected to begin around 15:45 Tashkent time.
