Uzbekistan among countries with cheapest electricity for population

Three states of Central Asia entered the TOP-10 list of countries with the cheapest electricity for the population, cable.co.uk writes.

The resource specialists analyzed electricity prices in 230 countries. It turned out that the cheapest electric energy is in the countries of North and Central Africa, as well as in the countries of the former USSR.

In the Central Asian region, Kyrgyzstan is the leader, occupying 4th place in the world ranking. Kyrgyzstanis pay $0.017 per kilowatt-hour of electricity. Tajikistan, with an electricity cost of $0.023 per kilowatt-hour, is in 6th place. Uzbekistan ranks 7th in the ranking ($0.027 per kilowatt-hour).

The most expensive electricity is in the Caribbean, remote Pacific island states, as well as in Germany and Somalia. Residents of these countries have to pay from $0.30 to $0.69 per kilowatt-hour.
