Around 300 hotels to be built in Uzbekistan by 2020
By 2020, about 300 hotels are planned to be built in Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to Bakhtiyor Umarov, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan.
“Flow of tourists is rapidly growing in Uzbekistan, but our infrastructure does not fully comply with international standards. We lack decent hotels in our country. In order to overcome such issues and offer appropriate services, we plan to build around 300 hotels by 2020. These include world brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Intercontinental, Sheraton and others. We have already reached agreements with the representatives of this hotels,” said Bakhtiyor Umarov.

It should be noted that the State Committee for Tourism Development is constantly studying the main trends and opinions of tourists in order to overcome the existing problems in the sphere.
A survey, which included 5756 respondents from 72 countries, was conducted in June to study the opinions of tourists about the quality of services they were provided.
Results of the survey show that the majority of tourists (88 %) were satisfied with the quality of accommodation services, and 90 % said food quality is of the highest standard. Overall service quality was assessed as decent by 89 % of tourists.
