“Uzinfocom” announced a bid for the implementation of the registration system of phones by IMEI

In late October, it was proclaimed that Uzbekistan would introduce a system for registering mobile devices using international unique identification codes.

The system will protect the rights of owners of mobile devices by checking the correctness of their unique codes. It will not allow the owner’s phone to be used without his authorization and prevent the sale of low-quality devices that do not meet international standards.

The operator “Uzinfocom” is determined as the authorized body by the Ministry of Finance. ICT Development Fund will finance the activities. The Ministry will adopt a plan of development for the system during the week, which provides for its full launch by April 1, 2019.

In that regard, “Uzinfocom” started a search for IT companies that would do this.

Companies that meet the requirements can take part in the selection. They should confirm the availability of experience in developing and successfully launching out at least two projects.
