Emirati company “Phoenix Agro” intends to enter the Uzbek domestic market
The State Investment Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with representatives of the “Phoenix Agro Industry and Trade Company CA” (UAE).
“Phoenix Agro Industry and Trade Company CA” is a global agrarian-food group engaged in the production, supply, processing and sale through an integrated supply chain. The company is participating in the implementation of projects in more than 20 countries, including Ukraine, Russia, Vietnam and others. Today, there is an active expansion of cooperation with Central Asian countries, for instance, the company has invested more than $ 130 million in Kazakhstan.
In connection with the favorable conditions for investment created in the country, the company expressed a desire to invest in Uzbekistan, particularly, in the cultivation and processing of agricultural products.
During the talks, experts of the committee presented information on the investment climate, in particular, about the exemptions provided for investing in the agrarian-industrial sector of Uzbekistan, and also made a presentation on promising projects.
The need to introduce the most advanced technologies in the agrarian sector of Uzbekistan was noted in order to increase crop yields, specifically, new types of agricultural equipment, innovative agricultural technologies, crop rotation practices and etc.
Besides, the Committee assisted in organizing a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture for the management of the Emirati company.
In addition, representatives of “Phoenix Agro Industry and Trade Company CA” expressed their intention to invite the leading agronomists of the world to Uzbekistan in order to study the land plots allocated for investment, as well as hold a training seminar for interested farmers of the republic.
