Asian Development Bank to assist Uzbekistan with improving the quality of education
The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan (MPE) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will identify possible areas of cooperation in order to improve the quality of education in the country.
“During the meeting, ADB experts familiarized themselves with the main directions of reforming the public education system. In particular, the parties discussed possible participation of ADB in improving the school infrastructure, including within the framework of the program “Modern school”, introduction of systems to assess pupils’ knowledge and teachers’ competence, as well as student training programs,” press service of the MPE said on the results of the meeting of the head of the Ministry Sherzod Shermatov with representatives of the ADB mission.
The parties also discussed introduction of information technology into the public education system and improvement of the quality of teaching STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) disciplines.
Participants of the meeting agreed to discuss and work out the preparation of joint projects to be implemented with financial support of the ADB and other international donors.
