Regulation on rewarding talented school graduates with gold and silver medals approved
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has approved the “Regulation on awarding talented graduates of secondary schools and academic lyceums with gold and silver medals”.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Public Education, the charter defines the procedure for awarding gifted graduates of general secondary education institutions, including specialized schools, specialized arts and culture boarding schools, specialized sports boarding schools and academic lyceums with gold and silver medals.
A gold medal is granted to pupils who have a certificate of excellence of completing the 9th grade of general secondary education institutions, who achieve excellent results from the final, quarterly and annual assessments of all subjects at the 10th and 11th grades, or all the academic lyceum graduates who have excellent results from final, semi-annual and annual assessments, including exemplary behavior and who are active in public affairs.
A silver medal is awarded to graduates who have a certificate of excellence of completing the 9th grade of general secondary education institutions, who achieve excellent results from the final, quarterly and annual assessments of all subjects at the 10th and 11th grades, or who have excellent grades in all courses of academic lyceums and who are active in public works with exemplary behavior.
Annually, until June 10, deputy director for educational matters of the educational institutions:
• will learn grades, documents related to the educational process of graduates (class record, rating table);
• will form a list of graduates who are eligible for gold and silver medal awards;
• will submit the list of graduates who are eligible for gold and silver medal awards to the Pedagogical Council of the educational institution.
Every year by June 14, the Pedagogical Council decides to award graduates with gold or silver medals on the basis of requirements set out in paragraphs 3 and 4 of this Regulation.
Gold and silver medals are handed over to graduates by the Director of the Educational Institution in the presence of representatives of local authorities, parents or their substitutes and other public organizations.
The regulation establishes the order of preparation and delivery of gold and silver medals to the institutions.
