Recently dismissed Kazakh PM appointed Secretary of State
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed Bakitjan Sagintaev as Secretary of State of the RK. This was reported on the web site of Akorda.
"Sagintayev Bakitjan Abdirovich is appointed Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the report said.
Bakitjan Sagintaev was born on October 13, 1963 in the Jambyl Province. In 1985, he graduated from Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov. Candidate of economic sciences.
He was the governor of Pavlodar region in 2008-2012, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2012-2013. From January 2013, he was First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic. In September 2016, he was appointed Prime Minister of the country. He was dismissed from office on February 21, 2019 by a presidential decree.
